PBC have been appointed by Prologis to project manage the development of a new, state of the art coffee bean roaster facility for Costa, the nation’s favourite coffee shop, in Basildon, Essex. The new roaster represents over £36 million in fresh investment and will become the only purpose built Costa roaster to supply coffee beans in the UK and the rest of the world!

The Costa and Prologis project delivery team held a breaking ground ceremony on 4th November 2015, which marked the commencement of construction works on site, attended by the Mayor of Basildon, Councillor Don Morris and the Managing Director of Costa, Christopher Rogers.

Paul Philips, MD of PBC also attended the event and commented ” PBC are delighted to be part of the project team, managing the delivery of this landmark new roaster, which is breaking new ground in the UK”.

The project has a 34 week contract to programme and once the base building is constructed, the roaster equipment and offices will be fitted out before the facility opens for operations in early 2017.

This is an amazing opportunity for PBC and we will keep you updated on how the works progress.
