Springview Nursing Home is a purpose-built care home which overlooks the tranquil greens of Enfield Golf Course. Located on the edge of the greenbelt, but within easy reach of Enfield town centre, it provides a happy and stimulating environment for its residents.
PBC was appointed by the home’s owners, Springdene Carehomes Group, to project manage the construction of a new, two-storey rear extension and the refurbishment of interior spaces on the building’s ground floor. The aim of the project was to create a more spacious lounge and dining area and a new external terrace for residents, plus improved facilities for staff. This included new offices and staff changing rooms with showers and WCs, in the lower ground floor of the extension, as well as additional space for an extended laundry area. PBC also project managed the fit-out of the new office spaces.
Throughout the project, the home remained fully operational 24 hours a day and care had to be taken whilst working to ensure noise and disruption was kept to a minimum.
At the start of the project it was also discovered that there was an issue with the foundations of the part of the building that was being knocked down and re-built. This meant that more work had to be undertaken to remove the piled foundations and remedy issues with surrounding soil, before the new extension could be constructed.
Time was also a crucial factor in the successful delivery of this project, which had to be completed in time for a planned Christmas party for residents to open the new facilities.
The refurbishment and new extension was completed on budget and on time and the Project Management team is also delighted as Springdene Carehomes Group has asked them to act on their behalf for another fit-out project.
