Quay Place in Birmingham comprises six individual character buildings around a central courtyard. Located alongside the canal, each building offers office accommodation, with suites and an occupier hub which includes a cafe, shower facilities, secure car parking and cycle storage. This mixed-use development also includes student accommodation.
PBC was appointed to provide Project Management, Contract Administration and Cost Consultancy services for the provision of a new marketing suite, café, shower block, meeting room and reception. New canopies were also installed at some of the entrances, and new canal-side seating was created. The development’s security office was also moved to a temporary location and was then relocated to its final place.
Much of the work was completed during the academic holidays, but some of it had to be undertaken when tenants were in situ. To ensure minimum disruption, some of the access points were re-routed and tenants were kept abreast of updates via a regular newsletter.
The project is now successfully completed an PBC is delighted to have been appointed to Project Manage an additional office project, which is due to start in the Spring of 2022.
