The Project

No 31 Turner Street has had a very colourful history.  Located just behind the London Hospital, in an area of both commercial and residential properties, the building was once a clothing factory and also the scene of a notorious Victorian murder!  More recently, planning permission was granted to convert the warehouse into modern, stylish residential apartments that would attract a young, creative, cosmopolitan audience.

PBC Scope

PBC was appointed by Hampshire Trust Bank to Project Monitor the development on its behalf.  This involved stripping out the old building, replacing all of the windows and converting it into five, two-bedroom apartments.  The basement storey was lowered to create two stylish duplex apartments across two levels.  Above this, full width apartments were built on both the first and second floors.  In a new, bronze clad roof extension, a luxury penthouse was added with its own private roof terrace.

The building, known as Calico Lofts, is now finished and the apartments are attracting a great deal of interest from buyers looking for a stylish new home close to the heart of the city.
