The Project

151 and 153 Newham’s Yard on Tower Bridge Road are flagship developments of 86 deluxe studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments by Galliard Homes and Acorn Property Group. This contemporary development is just a 10-minute walk from London Bridge station with easy access across the Capital.

PBC Scope

PBC was appointed as Independent Monitoring Surveyor for the project in 2019, after phase one works at No.153 to build 29 residential units and commercial/retail space on the ground floor had started. Each of the apartments benefit from private outdoor space in the form of a balcony or terrace, as well as modern, luxury interiors.

Phase two of the project at 151 Newham Yard comprised 57 residential units at part first floor and upper storeys, with 5 commercial units over ground and part first floor. Redevelopment has now been completed.

The two buildings are separated by a central, pedestrianised courtyard area with plans to link this with the neighbouring St Mary Magdalene churchyard via a new pedestrian walkway.

Despite Covid-19, which resulted in some supply-chain issues, the project was completed close to its target date, and residents are already enjoying their new homes close to the world-famous Tower Bridge and other attractions such as the Bermondsey Street restaurants.
