PBC Marks 25 Years – Part 1 Standout Projects

PBC-Marks-25-years

PBC Marks 25 Years with a Portfolio of Standout Projects Across the UK and Europe.

From Grade II listed fit-outs in Mayfair to a 270,000 sq ft media campus in Paris, high-end London apartment schemes to industrial and logistics facilities and motorway services developments, PBC’s 25-year portfolio showcases the breadth of expertise our team has built across residential, commercial, industrial, hospitality, heritage and leisure building safety and beyond.

Part 1

Upper Berkeley Street, Marylebone (2003) is one of the earlier entries in our portfolio, where PBC delivered contract administration on a prestigious residential scheme in the heart of Marylebone.

Demonstrating our reach across the retail sector, PBC carried out technical due diligence across 8 retail parks UK-wide (2006). Projects of this kind underline our ability to mobilise nationally and provide consistent, high-quality advice across a portfolio of assets.

Among the more distinctive early projects was The Disney Store European Distribution Centre (2008) at Magna Park, Lutterworth, where PBC acted as Project Manager and Employer Agent. A large-scale fit-out project for one of the world’s most recognisable brands.

In the heart of the City, PBC undertook development monitoring at Smiths of Smithfield, London (2009); a Grade II-listed building at 67–77 Charterhouse Street, Farringdon. The Metropolitan Cold Stores building was converted in 1999 into the nightclub Fabric and the Smiths of Smithfield bars and restaurants.

PBC has a strong track record in delivering motorway services, evidenced by their Project Management of two of the UK’s busiest motorway services at MSA Beaconsfield, J2, M40 (2010) and MSA Cobham, J9, M25 (2012).

In sport, PBC was appointed by Investec Bank Plc as development monitor for the Tottenham Hotspur Training Academy (2012), a high-profile sports infrastructure facility.

Our building surveying expertise was brought to bear at South Colonnade, Canary Wharf (2013), one of the first buildings to be built on the Canary Wharf business estate in London’s docklands.

Heritage work has always been a part of what we do, including providing planned preventative maintenance advice for the Cutty Sark, Greenwich (2014), a fantastic instruction for an award-winning maritime landmark.

In the City of London, PBC acted as project manager for The Gherkin (2014); 30 St Mary Axe, one of the most architecturally distinctive buildings in the world.

In 2015, our development monitoring team assisted on a 400-bed purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Reading, closely followed by PBSA schemes in Portsmouth and Swansea.

PBC’s hospitality credentials are further demonstrated by development monitoring services at The Linthwaite House Hotel, Windermere (2016), a luxury country house hotel in the Lake District, upgraded from a humble 3-star to a luxury 5-star hotel brand.

Completing Part 1 of our standout project showcase is the project management of Costa Coffee European Bean Roasting Facility (2017), a £38 million development in Basildon, Essex, delivered for Prologis Plc. A specialist industrial and logistics development for one of the UK’s best-known food and beverage brands.
