No 1 High Street, Feltham, is a new landmark development in the town’s centre, opposite the station with its fast links to London Waterloo. PBC was appointed as Independent Monitoring Surveyor for the project, which involved the construction of 45,314sq.ft. of accommodation split over two blocks.
Block A comprises a part six, part seven-storey building with 39 residential units and separate gym within the ground floor commercial space whilst a further 8 units are provided within Block B to the rear of the site. All upper-floor apartments have balconies which have either a river or town view. Associated parking is available for up to fifteen cars with shared landscaped gardens and a children’s play space also provided.
Specific challenges included a change of principal contractor during the course of construction requiring new contracts and warranties to be put in place to protect the funder’s interest.
